TCS to bring all 2008-09 freshers on board by March
The country’s largest software exporter Tata Consultancy Services will complete the process of bringing on board freshers from the 2008-09 batch by March, a top company official has indicated.
“Out of the 24,888 offer letters that were given out, we expect around 17,000-18,000 to join us. We have already taken on board 9,200-odd freshers and now we expect the remaining ones to join by the quarter-end,” Mr Ajoy Mukherjee, Vice-President and head – global human resources, told newspersons.
This is assuming a joining ratio of around 72 per cent (which means for every 100 offer letters despatched, only 72 would finally join the company rolls). Analysts were expecting joining ratios to be higher than 80 per cent given the uncertain economic climate of last year.
