Conserve India, a non-profit organisation which recycles waste plastic into high fashion, is fighting for proper recognition of Delhi’s ragpickers. Despite their vital work managing and recycling 20% of the city’s waste, Delhi’s 150,000 ragpickers are not recognised as being self-employed in a legitimate profession.
